About

The Aurora Church of Christ is part of a worldwide fellowship of Christian congregations who are bound together under the Lordship of Christ.

We are endeavoring to discover and practice the Christianity of which we read in the New Testament. In keeping with this endeavor, we desire to be known only as “Christians,” disavowing any sectarian or denominational name or connection.

We have no creed except those beliefs enjoined upon all Christians by the New Testament; this is our book of faith, practice, and discipline.

We have no hierarchy; our separate congregations are led by elders (Acts 20:17, 28; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4; 1 Timothy 3:1-7,5:17) and deacons (Acts 6:1-7; 1 Timothy 3:8-13) under the Lordship of Christ, Who alone is the “Head of the Church” (Ephesians 1:22, 4:15; Colossians 1:18).

We acknowledge as Christians and receive into our fellowship all those who have responded to the Gospel of Christ through belief and repentance and who have openly acknowledged this belief in public confession and in baptism into Christ.

We recognize that this baptism must be a complete “burial” with Christ, and thus must include a total immersion (Acts 8:38; Romans 6:1-11; Col. 2:12)

We celebrate the resurrection of Christ with the Lord’s Supper on the first day of each week. (1 Cor. 11:23-27; Acts 20:7).
